by Blaine Ray; adapted to French by Victoria Reynolds and Gloria Simpson

The second novel — for 1st or 2nd year students. Fama is a 15 year-old girl from Mauritania. She goes to California as an exchange student. She acts quickly and decisively to rescue her. The two girls become fast friends, and eventually Debbie goes to Mauritania to visit Patricia and her family.
